Heifer Project – Honeybees
A donation of $30.00 will provide a gift of Heifer honeybees which includes a bee package, the box and hive and training in the latest beekeeping techniques. By pollinating the crops on a family’s farm, healthy beehives can double fruit and vegetable yields. And income from the sale of honey, wax and pollen can be put toward food, clothing, medicine and education.
You will find a Heifer project display in the narthex, for the next couple of months we will focus on purchasing honeybees. You will find thank you cards to thank someone for the sweet things they do on the table. You will also find flavored honeysticks on the table. We are asking for a donation of .50 cents per stick with proceeds going towards the purchase of a hive.
Let’s work together to see how many hives we can purchase!
Do you know your church family?
Reach out with Radical Hospitality and Prayer
For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.

LENTEN PRAYER FOR TRANSFORMATION
For the week of Feb. 22 – Feb. 25, 2012
Lent is the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Sundays are excluded since
every Sunday is a mini-celebration of the Resurrection! Lent is a time of preparation
for Easter, a time when we attempt to draw closer to God.
Since prayer is communication with God, what better way to draw closer than through
prayer. During these 40 days, the Belle Plaine UMC will be open for prayer 12 hours a day,
from 9 am to 9 pm. It is our hope that persons will sign up for one-hour shifts to come to
the sanctuary (or parlor if the sanctuary is being used) and pray.
