DISCIPLESHIP BIBLE STUDY
TO BE OFFERED
Pastor Jan would like to lead a Disciple Bible Study (either I or IV), starting this fall.
The first Disciple Bible Study serves as the basis for all other studies in the Disciple family that follow it. Over the course of 34 weeks, Disciple covers the entire Bible (Old and New Testaments) following the biblical story from Creation to the New Jerusalem.
Disciple IV, “Under The Tree of Life”, is a 32 week program. It will convey the promise of finding shelter, security, and rest in God’s love. You will look at the Old Testament writings; the Gospel of John; the Epistles of John, James, and Jude; and Revelation – participants will see the entire process of living toward final rest and reward.
If you are interested in either study please let Pastor Jan or the office know which one you would be interested in attending.

INVITATION TO THE TABLE

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Great Lord and God, we come to you in confession this day acknowledging our failure to fully submit to your rule over our lives. We have followed our own desires and preferences over your will. At times we have served other gods, those of pleasure and ambition and greed. On other occasions we have casually allowed good things to overshadow your rule in our lives. We have forgotten that you are the servant King who calls us to love and serve others. We have ignored those in need to pursue our own passions. Forgive us, Lord, we pray this day. Have mercy upon us and lead us again into the true greatness of your rule and reign over our lives. This we pray in the name of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Purpose of
The Belle Plaine United Methodist Church
is to spread the Good News of the Gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ, our Savior, to its members, to the community and to the entire world through Preaching, Christian Education, Music, and Youth Activities. We will be aware of and respond to those who are in need physically, mentally and spiritually, with love and compassion. We will nurture and minister to those already within our fellowship and reach out to all in our community. To achieve this purpose will require the dedication, personal witnessing, and enthusiastic involvement of all church members.
